Plans are for a wonderful season. A plant we just adore is the Vista Bubblegum Pink Supertunia. We have exciting new additions and expanded our selection of 8 new Supertunias to choose from. They are all very fast growers, just one plant will fill a basket, and it is always our choice for our large urns and our famous hanging baskets. This is vegetatively grown, not seeded and is totally different from the old experiences with petunias. This season we have also expanded our selection of special annuals. Last year we were asked daily what the huge red plants were in our large containers. It was, of course, the Whopper Begonia! Available in red and pink, they have 2 inch blossoms, are two feet tall and two feet in diameter. Bugs and disease are not a problem. Folks need to know the beauty and ease of these garden stars! There is also an expanded selection of herbs and perennials as well as hydrangeas, roses (including Old English Roses) and an extensive selection of clematis. Providing an immense selection of culinary herbs at our farm is our specialty. There are some new basils and, of course, an extraordinary selection of thymes, mints, rosemary and sages plus many other unique choices of herbs.
Again this year we are offering the soil, fertilizer, pots and plants for “fill your own container.” Many times we are told our plants grow better and get bigger than those purchased elsewhere. We feel this is because we do not use PGR's (plant growth regulators.) These are used extensively elsewhere in the commercial greenhouses to retard the growth of the plant which extends the "shelf life" for the seller but in our opinion stunts the overall size of the plant. At Stream Cliff Farm we grow as naturally as possible and use beneficial insects in our greenhouses. By not using toxic chemicals on our plants we provide you the safest and highest quality plants you deserve. Plus when you shop at Stream Cliff Farm Nursery, you have licensed resident horticulturists to help with your selection which is rare in many places.
